The superior double room with terrace at Hotel Palau Macelli was an absolute gem! I felt like royalty as soon as I stepped inside. The room had such a cozy and romantic vibe, with its medieval water channel-inspired decor. It was the perfect setting for a peaceful and relaxing stay. As a backpacker seeking a bit of luxury, this room exceeded my expectations.
The only downside for me was the size of the room. It might be a bit small for some guests, but it added to the intimate atmosphere.

Hotel Palau Macelli was the ideal base for our family to explore the wonderful and magical places of the Costa Brava and the Empordà. We visited the wetlands National Park of L'Empordà and were amazed by the diverse native fauna. The Cap de Creus Natural Park offered us breathtaking views of its rugged landscapes. We also enjoyed the volcanic zone of La Garrotxa and the Montgrí National Park. The Medes Islands and the Albera National Park were other highlights of our trip. The long, wide sandy beaches of the Roses Bay provided us with endless hours of family fun. We even had the chance to visit the Butterfly Park and the Albera turtle breeding center, which added an educational and enjoyable touch to our vacation.
My children wanted the hotel to have more entertainment options for kids.

The pool was too small and the water was quite cold. the town lacked the charm and vibrancy that I was hoping for during my downtime.
